$700Billion Bailout Fails
I am extremely proud of our leaders who stood against the bailout. You must remember that as a Bankruptcy Attorney I would love to see the bailout bill pass with a reformation of the Bankruptcy Code. As an American citizen, I would love to see the bailout fail because in my opinion it rewards years of corporate greed and does nothing to help the people who would be paying for it.
My life as a Bankruptcy Attorney screams out to help my clients who are facing dire financial consequences. I have clients who are losing their homes and facing a very uncertain future, and my heart goes out to them. No-one would willingly change positions with these people and walk a mile in their shoes. The other side of me, as a business owner, who has a great deal riding on his shoulders each and every week, says hey, wait a minute, these guys on Wall Street made poor financial decisions and lived a life of greed and excess, and now they need to pay the price. If their companies go down, so be it. I wrote a blog on this issue today on debt law network.
