Bankruptcy Filings Exceed 4000 A Day In March
Bankruptcy Filing Across the Nation achieved a milestone since the inception of BAPCPA (Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act) in October 2005. March filings were in excess of 90,000, and based upon a 21 working days in March, bankruptcy filings reached 4,300 per day.
Interestingly, I cannot wait to see the foreclosure statistics for March, and then I can compare the two statistics. I'm willing to bet that the number of foreclosures filed in the State of Florida for the month of March is twice the number of bankruptcies filed in the month of March in Florida.
In the past, I've blogged on the number of foreclosures filed daily in the State of Florida. The number of foreclosure filings has a direct correlation on the number of bankruptcy filings. I will continue to watch the markets and report back on this topic.
